"Shirebrook Academy has used Monkhouse to supply and distribute our uniform to students.   We have been very impressed by the flexibility that the company has shown, and of their professionalism displayed during the distrbution days.

Shirebrook Academy had two distribution days to hand uniform out to existing students in the predecessor school plus three additional general uniform distribution days during the summer holidays for new starters and any individuals who did not attend the in-school days.  The staff attending these events understood the needs of the students and had a commendable customer manner. Although not all items of uniform were present at the outset due to delays in transit the arrangements for students who needed to collect missing garments worked well, with a voucher system being in place to control stock issues.

We are particularly pleased that Monkhouse were prepared to offer to attend the Academy on the first day of opening to ensure that any of the small number of students who did not collect their uniform on any of the five days they were in school (eg last minute applicants to join the Academy) will be able to do so on the opening day."

“Our association with the company goes back over 60 years, to the time when Frank
Monkhouse ran a newsagent’s shop in Mellor Road, Cheadle Hulme. Like Monkhouse’s,
Ramillies Hall School is family-run and is also into the third generation. Mr Kenneth
Patterson, the father of the present Principals, was looking for a local supplier of
school uniform. He suggested to Frank Monkhouse that he should expand to include
a uniform department upstairs in his shop premises ...and the rest, as they say, is
history! The shop moved from Mellor Road to its present position in Cheadle Hulme
precinct, and has continued to grow. We look forward to continuing our long
association, and wish F R Monkhouse all the best for the future.”
